'Clueless' Stars: Where Are They Now
It seems like just yesterday that Cher Horowitz and the gang were traipsing around Beverly Hills in her white Jeep. In reality, it’s been more than 20 years since Clueless hit the silver screen and left thousands of people in America wanting their very own revolving closet — #wayharsh. And between the matching plaid outfits and the gym class antics, they were basically the ultimate high school dream.
Unfortunately, closet technology hasn’t come as far as we might have hoped, but the actors who starred in the 1995 summer hit have gone on to accomplish a lot. Read on to find out what the original valley girls and boys of Bronson Alcott High School have been up to. Hint: It sadly does not involve wearing '90s-licious outfits or religiously saying “As if.”
1/12Alicia Silverstone (Cher Horowitz)
In the '90s, Alicia Silverstone was the embodiment of the quintessential cool girl. Her outfits in Clueless were the stuff of legends and she later shone as Batgirl in 1997’s Batman and Robin. More recently, she’s strayed away from the acting life in honor of activism—she runs her own website, The Kind Life, that offers tips on following a plant-based lifestyle.
2/12Paul Rudd (Josh Lucas)
No one in the '90s can argue that Paul Rudd wasn’t one of the biggest heartthrobs of the decade. Since then, Rudd has become a mega star — and seemingly managed to stop aging completely. Starring in films like I Love You Man, Knocked Up, Ant-Man, and This is 40, Paul Rudd has created quite the career for himself.
3/12Stacey Dash (Dionne Davenport)
Stacey Dash played the jelly to Alicia Silverstone’s peanut butter. “Would you call me selfish?” “No, not to your face.” With that brutally honesty reply, the world’s Dionne obsession became #tooreal. Dash continued starring in films and TV shows after the 1995 hit, but is now most well-known for for her controversial statements and her role as a Fox News contributor.
4/12Donald Faison (Murray Duvall)
Murray Duvall made braces seem edgy and had boys around the country attempting to call their girlfriends “woman.” (Ugh.) Although he had a rocky relationship with Dionne on screen, things have been smooth sailing for Donald Faison IRL. He most famously starred on Scrubs as Turk and is now married with six children. Oh, and did we mention Jessica Simpson was a bridesmaid at his wedding? NBD.
5/12Brittany Murphy (Tai Frasier)
She played the awkward new girl who was coming into her own, but Brittany Murphy had some of the film’s best lines. Tai graced us with sentiments like, “You’re a virgin who can’t drive,” which had viewers totally buggin’. Brittany Murphy had a successful career after Clueless, and starred in films like Girl, Interrupted, 8 Mile, and Uptown Girls. Unfortunately, the multifaceted star tragically passed away in 2009, so we’ll never truly know how much she could have accomplished in the industry.
6/12Justin Walker (Christian Stovitz)
Justin Walker played the initial object of Cher’s affections — new student and total babe, Christian. Walker’s since strayed away from acting and now owns a restaurant in California. At the 20-year Clueless reunion, he said he thought nowadays Christian would be an “aging back-up dancer for Lady Gaga." As if.
7/12Elisa Donovan (Amber Mariens)
She played a mean girl and made the phrase “Whatever” catch on like wildfire, but what has Elisa Donovan been up to since playing the redheaded high schooler? She’s continued acting in several smaller productions, but we think her Instagram bio describes her most accurately, “Actor, writer, time-traveler, wine consumer, salsa dancing yogi, lover-not-a-fighter.” Looks like she forgot to add “definitely not ensembly challenged” to the list, though.
8/12Breckin Meyer (Travis Birkenstock)
Known for his infectious smile and skater hair in the '90s, Breckin Meyer has accomplished a lot since Clueless. Some of his most famous roles include parts in The Craft, Road Trip, Rat Race, and Robot Chicken. He also founded a production company with Ryan Phillippe and Seth Green. Not too shabby, eh?
9/12Jeremy Sisto (Elton Tiscia)
What do you do with your life after playing one of the most popular boys in high school? Jeremy Sisto has answers. The former teen heartthrob has starred in Six Feet Under, Law & Order, Suburgatory, and even played the titular role in a movie called Jesus back in 1999.
10/12Twink Caplan (Miss Geist)
Twink’s character, Miss Geist, was lovable because she was so relatable. She was usually flustered, a little unorganized, but damnit, she was trying to do some good in the world. Caplan hasn’t done much since Clueless, but she did move behind the camera to produce a few hits like 2000’s Loser, which starred Jason Biggs.
11/12Wallace Shawn (Mr. Hall)
Before he was the clueless Mr. Hall, he was, and forever will be, known for playing Vizzini in The Princess Bride. His distinct voice and demeanor have enabled Wallace Shawn to be successful. Don’t believe it? Check out his work in Gossip Girl, Family Guy, and Vegas Vacation. He even leant his vocal chops to play Rex in Toy Story. Bravo, Mr. Hall.
