The 10 Best Fashion and Beauty Looks from Last Night's Billboard Music Awards
It's hard to interpret trends from a red carpet as eccentric as last night's Billboard Music Awards. After all, this show that draws a musical crowd, and we can always count on our favorite singers to adopt a style that's uniquely their own. Even still, this was a fairly clean red carpet, with a couple of gowns spotted amidst a sea of shorter and edgier ensembles.
As for the beauty? Minimal hair and makeup was the rule for nearly all of the celebrities, though there were a couple of fun exceptions. (We're looking at you, Lorde!) Click through to see the evening's most exciting looks and let us know your favorite in the comments below.

The Modern Family star looked precious in a metallic two-piece suit by Emilio Pucci. To complement the edgy zipper details of her ensemble, makeup artist Allan Avendaño created a bronze smoky eye with major lashes, defined brows, and a pinky-nude lip. Her hair was pinned back with a deep side-part, allowing her bangs to frame her face, which added to the overall drama. It was a more mature look than her recent red carpet moments, but she wore it quite well!

Our May cover girl skipped the red carpet, but still managed two very impressive outfit changes during the course of the evening. While accepting the award for Top Rock Song, she took the stage in an awesome furry-sleeved coat and wet-look hair with her signature lip. Later, for her epic performance of "Tennis Court," she switched it up with a fedora and a black, belted ensemble.

Ariana also skipped the carpet, but she did show up for an entertaining performance of her new song "Problem" with Iggy Azalea. She looked pretty precious in an ultra-mod black and white ensemble, complete with go-go boots, white nails, and a flick of black eyeliner.
