When did you first decide to start your channel?
The winter of 2009, so I've been on YouTube for a while now. The beauty guru community seemed like such a fun way to interact with others and talk about the things we love—boy was I right!
What's your beauty philosophy?
Less is more! When it comes to makeup, I think it's important to enhance your natural features, not cover them up.

Where do you get inspiration for your tutorials?
Everywhere! I honestly get inspiration from the most random things. I also pay attention to video editing. Different YouTube channels, like StyleHaul and MichellePhan, inspired me to put more effort into my editing and overall video quality.
Who are a few of your favorite vloggers?
Really anyone who can let loose on camera and make me laugh!

What’s in your makeup bag right now?
My Benefit Brows A Go-Go, MAC face powder, and a Chapstick. I try to keep it simple.
What three beauty products do you find yourself buying over and over again?
My MAC Mineralized Skinfish Natural, MAC Lipstick in Hue, and any Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butters. I seriously can’t get enough of them!
What’s your favorite hairstyle to create?
Soft, loose curls. They work perfectly for fancy occasions and casual days.

What was the hardest tutorial you've ever filmed?
Probably my most recent prom eye makeup tutorial. It was my first time filming a full tutorial with my DSLR camera, so I wasn't used to manually focusing on my eye every few seconds. But it was definitely worth it!
Do you have advice for a reader who wants to start her own channel?
Make sure you really let your true personality shine through in your videos, and consistency is very important when it comes to keeping your audience engaged. Also, just make sure you have fun with it! Creating YouTube videos shouldn't be stressful or nerve-wracking—it should be a hobby you love.
