Best NYFW Beauty Looks Worth Copying IRL
Though it's technically called New York Fashion Week, the runways this season served up just as much beauty inspo as it did outfit inspo. From sparkly eyeshadow to manicures that doubled as jewelry, every show was chock full of looks that we're dying to copy IRL, for everything from formal events (cough cough, homecoming) to casual Saturday nights.
The best part about the beauty from this years NYFW is that there was a huge variety, ranging from au natural everything to over-the-top glam... which means that there was truly something for everyone to borrow come homecoming time. A few standout moments? The jaw-dropping hair florals at Rodarte, the glossy lids at Savage x Fenty, and the brushed out brows that showed up pretty much everywhere.
Though it was nearly impossible to narrow it down, we rounded up the top 10 best beauty trends from New York Fashion Week that will look just as gorgeous in your homecoming pictures and Instagram selfies as they did on the catwalk.
Sean Zanni1/11One Day Only Dye Jobs
At the Marc Jacobs show, 37 (!!!) models hit the catwalk with brightly colored new 'dos, and a few others did the same at Savage x Fenty. While their looks were slightly more permanent, you can copy the look with a semi-permanent dye like Manic Panic's offerings, or a color spray like Kristen Ess Rose Gold Temporary Hair Tint.

Lips weren't the only place where lipgloss was poppin' this season. At Savage x Fenty, makeup artist Priscilla Ono added an extra element of "OMG" to models bright eye makeup by glossing their lids with Gloss Bomb. The result was a bright, holographic looking lid that could practically be seen from outer space (plus, who doesn't love a double-duty product?).

Whether it's a full set or a single accent nail, who doesn't love a little sparkle on their fingers? Varying iterations of glitter manis came down the runway at shows like Tibi, Kate Spade and Tadashi Shoji. To get the perfectly-applied glitter look for yourself, paint the area surrounding your nail with PVC glue, then use a makeup sponge to blot polish, like JINSoon Absolute Glitz, all over the surface. Peel off the PVC and apply a topcoat, at voila — runway ready nails at the tips of your fingers.

Models' nails weren't the only things that were glitzed out this season. At Jeremy Scott, Kate Spade, and Savage x Fenty, glitter lids ran abound, and at Tibi we discovered glitter brows, which happen to be surprisingly more understated than they sound. To steal the runway-approved look, try a loose glitter like NYX Professional Metallic Glitter, or something more subtle like Bobbi Brown Silver Moon Sparkle Eyeshadow.

Despite what Rihanna's French Vogue cover may have led us to believe, big, bushy brows aren't going anywhere. To get the look, which was flawlessly showed off at the TOME Presentation, start by filling in your natural brows with an eye pencil and brushing them up with a spoolie coated in brow gel.

There were undoubtedly some stunning earrings and necklaces that appeared on the runways this season, but some of the best jewelry for SS19 was actually affixed to models' fingers. At Libertine, Rodarte, and Adeam, finger bling was everywhere. While these may not be the easiest manis to DIY, try a set of embellished acrylics for the same wow-worthy statement on your hands.

Forget flower crowns: If Rodarte and Mansur Gavriel are to be believed, there's an entirely new way to wear florals in your hair this season. Clip in some faux ones with a set of statement-making hair pins from Free People, which are sure to bring any homecoming hairstyle to the next level.

For this season's eye makeup, many designers — including Rodarte, Marc Jacobs, and Savage x Fenty — seemed to adhere to the rule of "the brighter, the better." Lids were decorated in pigmented shades in every color of the rainbow, creating the complete opposite of the understated, natural look that appeared on other runways. Good news for anyone who likes to snooze their alarms until the absolute last minute: No fuss, no brush hair is in. At Tome, models came down the runway in hair that purposely looked unwashed. According to Aveda hairstylist Antoinette Beenders, it was meant to mimic what your hair would look like if you'd been traveling longterm (possibly without a hairbrush) and letting it do its thing. To get the look, spritz strands with a texturizing spray like Aveda Texture Tonic, or just roll out of bed and do nothing.
