10 Times Models Fell On the Runway at NYFW and Beyond
"Oh my god, she's fashion road kill!" This is the reaction of Carrie Bradshaw's friend Stanford after she takes a tumble on the runway and is promptly stepped-over by Heidi Klum on an episode of Sex and the City. It's a moment we've become accustomed to at Fashion Weeks around the globe. Falling on the runway is almost like a right of passage for models. It’s safe to say that nobody wants it to happen, but when a model slips, trips or otherwise loses her balance on the catwalk — it’s all about how she recovers. Lindsey Wixson, Karen Elson, Candice Swanepoel and Agyness Deyn have all taken tumbles on the runway, and if anything, it only served to make them more relatable. As we celebrate New York Fashion Week, we're paying homage to all the models who fell and got right back on their feet, with grace and confidence. Hey, if fictional Carrie can recover with style, so can we.
