Samy Nemir Olivares

Samy Nemir Olivares is a Latinx genderqueer advocate, writer, speaker and works as a Public Information Officer at Lambda Legal. Samy’s Master Degree’s thesis and documentary at The New School was titled “Stonewall With a T” exploring the legacy of transgender grassroots activists, particularly Sylvia Rivera’s legacy. Inspired in Sylvia’s legacy from STAR, Samy frequently speaks to youth through their project THRIVE to educate, inspire and empower LGBTQ youth through mindfulness, healing and mental health for personal transformation and social change.
